The Fine Print Written by: Lauren Asher The first book in the Dreamland Billionaires series was different than what I had expected when going into reading it. I heard great things about this book and author through "book-Tok" and friends and couldn't wait to read it; however, the plot was not exactly what I thought it was going to be. The plot followed the youngest of three brothers, who were set to inherit a piece of the family business, and a spunky employee. After the boys' grandfather had passed away, each of the three grandsons were given a task to complete before earning their share of the company. Rowan was forced to go to the amusement park and figure out a creative way to renovate the park for the upcoming anniversary. He, then, is introduced to one of the hair and makeup artists. When hearing her ideas for the park, he promotes her to being one of the creators, only he doesn't realize his feelings for her until it's too late. Mistakes are made and he...

Pushing the Limits Written by: Katie McGarry In honor of McGarry's latest release, Risking It  All , I have decided to review the book that had influenced my love of reading in the very beginning. I first read this book in Junior High and thought it was the best thing ever. It held my attention, was greatly written, talked about hard and real topics, and made me fall in love with the characters form start to finish. This novel follows Noah and Echo, two high school students that have faced their fair share of trauma and, now, have to learn how to overcome it. Echo and Noah start out as enemies, being in completely different social groups, but are forced together when Echo needs money to fix her late brother's car and Noah is the student she is paid to tutor. The two embark in a friendship, and later a relationship, in an effort to help each other uncover the demons that haunt Echo and plan a way for Noah to get his family back. This path is not easy, especially when the two bel...

Scarred Written by: Emily McIntire To conclude October, I introduce the second book in the Never After series. I start with the second book because it was by far my favorite, alongside the final book, Crossed . With the series being based as a sort of new version of fairy tales we have all heard as children, this novel follows the story of "The Lion King". I was very skeptical when I originally heard that it was a dark romance novel based on a fairy tale of animals because I was curious to see how McIntire would portray their story and how accurate it would be. I was incredibly surprised and happily drawn in to the old time, royal world McIntire created. The story follows Prince Tristan Faasa and Lady Sara Beatreaux. Both are after their own version of revenge, Tristan aiming to get the crown from his brother and Sara hoping to rid the world of the Faasa line altogether. Neither took into consideration the thinning line bordering hatred and passion. The best kind of enemies...
